Dewberry welcomed Thomas A. Graupensperger as senior environmental scientist. Graupensperger will be based in the Carlisle office and will oversee the expansion of the firm’s environmental services in central Pennsylvania.
With more than 30 years of experience in environmental and ecological restoration, Graupensperger will oversee a broad range of services, including environmental documentation and permitting, wetlands delineation and mitigation, stream restoration and stabilization design, watershed management planning, storm water best management practices, non-point source and construction erosion pollution controls, threatened and endangered species coordination, waste site characterization, remedial investigations and waste management plans.
His background in municipal services includes floodplain management, encroachment analyses and the review, preparation, revision and amendment of Flood Insurance Studies. He has worked closely with state and federal permitting agencies and clients, including PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Graupensperger holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (Harrisburg Section), American Society of Civil Engineers, Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals (Central Pennsylvania Section), American Water Resources Assn., Pennsylvania Environmental Council and Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
