    June 12, 2007

Proposition O, the $500 million bond measure for cleaning up Los Angeles's runoff pollution passed in November 2004. The City of Santa Monica passed the similar Measure V to clean up their storm water in November 2006. National storm water experts and key water agency professionals responsible for launching these new programs will discuss achieving water quality goals throughout the entire Los Angeles County region at a panel discussion on June 15th, 2007.

This panel is one of four full-day workshops that will cover storm water pollution prevention techniques relevant to Southern California, to be held Friday, June 15, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, Calif. Los Angeles City Councilmember Jan Perry, co-author and champion of Proposition O, will speak at 2:45 p.m. on Prop O's promise for cleaning L.A.'s waters.

Presented by StormCon, each full-day workshop features nationally recognized experts from the across the nation. Professionals from the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board, Port of Long Beach, City of Malibu, Orange County, Riverside County, and national homebuilders will attend along with hundreds of municipal professionals, engineers, consultants, and contractors from across California to learn state-of-the-art storm water pollution-prevention and monitoring techniques.
