  • Moving Water Industries Signs Everglades Project Contract

Company to supply pumps to support restoration efforts
    November 7, 2008

Moving Water Industries (MWI) has announced that it has signed a major contract with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to supply critically needed pumps over a four-year period for the district's Everglades Restoration Project.

The pumping system to be supplied by MWI for the future G-508 pump station will include four diesel-engine pumping systems, each with a capacity of 470 cu ft per second (cfs); two electric pumping systems, each with a capacity of 110 cfs, and three electric pumping systems, each with a capacity of 25 cfs.

The SFWMD Everglades Restoration Project will enable the district to achieve Everglades water quality standards as part of its long-term plan to ensure that all waters discharging into the Everglades Protection Area are in compliance with state water quality standards.
