Wallingford Software, provider of hydraulic and hydrologic water modeling and asset management software, has announced the acquisition of InfoStream, a leading mobile information software developer and systems integrator.
InfoStream’s tools provide users with a complete ‘office-to-field-and-field-to-office’ solution. It uses mobile technology to link field workers seamlessly and securely to InfoNet asset and data management software and can support a wide range of hardware, including BlackBerrys, laptops, tablet PCs and PDAs.
Steve Tunstall, managing director of Wallingford Software said: "InfoNet has gone mobile, and that’s something the market will benefit from greatly. There are considerable time, cost, quality, accuracy and security pressures associated with data collection in the field. Creating a seamless bridge between the field and the center means much greater efficiency, and the marriage of the InfoStream products and InfoNet makes this a reality--it’s the most complete solution available. The ease of configuration and the familiar interface belies the robust engineering behind the system, which allows people to work in the remotest of locations. It really will revolutionize asset and data management without the need for overpriced custom-built systems."
David Boyle formed InfoStream after 15 years in the water industry and is now head of the Asset Management and Mobile Technology Div. at Wallingford Software. He said: "There was no more natural a home for InfoStream than alongside InfoNet. I am delighted that by becoming part of the Wallingford Software family, with its world renowned pedigree, we have set the standard for asset and data management."
