The WateReuse Symposium will mark a quarter of a century in existence Sept. 12 to 15 in Washington, D.C., at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. This event is presented by the WateReuse Assn. and co-sponsored by the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) and Water Environment Federation (WEF).
The symposium will feature more than 100 technical presentations, pre-conference workshops, poster presentations, technical tours, a national legislative and water policy outlook session, receptions, an awards luncheon and the exhibition component. Two keynote speakers—government leaders and experts in water, the water/energy nexus and climate change—will headline the Opening Session, which also will include presentations by Joe Mantua, president of AWWA, and Jeannette Brown, president-elect of WEF.
On the morning of Sept. 14, Jon Freedman, chair of WateReuse’s National Legislative Committee, will moderate a session titled “National Legislative and Water Policy Outlook.” Several prominent speakers will be featured, including Dr. Karen Wayland, policy advisor to the Speaker of the House, and Betsy Cody, a specialist in natural resources policy at the Congressional Research Service.
