Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Releases 10th Awards of Excellence Winners
The winning projects showcase the economic, social and environmental value of living architecture in a wide variety of buildings

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Green Roof and Wall Awards of Excellence. Jeffrey L. Bruce, chairman of GRHC, announced the winners in the lead-up to CitiesAlive: 10th Annual Green Roof and Wall Conference (Oct. 17 to Oct. 20, 2012) in Chicago, Ill.
“On this 10th Anniversary of the CitiesAlive conference, we are proud to celebrate Awards of Excellence winners that are pushing the boundaries in innovation for living architecture,” said Mr. Bruce. “The Awards process is always extremely competitive and this year in particular, which saw unprecedented 115% growth in the market in 2011, Award winners should be very proud of their accomplishments.”
GRHC President Steven Peck added his congratulations. “These winning projects showcase the economic, social and environmental value of living architecture in a wide variety of buildings, from restaurants and condos to office buildings and environmental organizations. They are tangible examples of the CitiesAlive 2012 theme ‘Building a Legacy of Outstanding Performance’ and the value of holistic design practice.”
The Awards will be presented at CitiesAlive: 10th Annual Green Roof and Wall Conference at the Congress Plaza Hotel in Chicago, Ill, on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Awards Luncheon. CitiesAlive is presented with co-host the City of Chicago.
