The 2018 Plastic Industry Fly-In will be held Sept. 11 to 12, 2018, in Washington, D.C. According to the Plastics Industry Assn., the industry's priorities revolve around the safety of workers, the safe use of products and the sustainable management of materials. The Plastics Industry Assn. advocates for additional infrastructure to improve recycling, open competition for materials by federally-funded infrastructure projects and stronger free trade policies. The association stands ready to work in partnership with federal, state and local leaders to train future workforces, according to a press release by the group.
The Washington Fly-In Program was established in 2000 and seeks to facilitate communication between chambers/associations and U.S. Chamber policy and advocacy experts. Briefings typically are one hour long and include two to three discussion topics.
