Presenters will show how SRI area-wide planning can create positive neighborhood change

EPA Superfund Redevelopment Initiative Webcast February 2014

On Feb. 13, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. ET, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Superfund Redevelopment Initiative (SRI) will host a free webinar entitled “Area-Wide Planning, Superfund Sites, Environmental Justice and Green Infrastructure: Tying it All Together in the Freeport Community Planning Project.” This webinar will provide an in-depth look at the project and include topics such as restoring strained relationships between environmental justice communities and government agencies, reusing contaminated areas to improve neighborhood quality of life and developing green and grey infrastructure strategies to reduce flood impacts on residential areas. Presenters will use the Freeport Community Planning Project as a case study to show how strategically engaging an entire community in an SRI area-wide planning project can mend relationships and create forward momentum for positive neighborhood change. This webinar is free of charge and open to the public.
