ASCE Presents 2020 Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award to LAN Engineer 

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has selected Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam’s (LAN) engineer George F. Ruchti as the 2020 recipient of the Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award. 

This award is presented to an ASCE member who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of pipeline engineering, either in research, planning, design or construction.

"George’s contributions to pipeline engineering for more than half a century have left a lasting mark on the industry and inspired pipeline engineers throughout the country,” said LAN president Wayne Swafford, P.E. “This award is a fitting tribute to his service.”

 

AQUALIS Acquires Stormwater & Lift Station Businesses

AQUALIS Stormwater Management announced the acquisition of storm water and lift station assets of KLEENCO USA. The acquisition of KLEENCO supports AQUALIS’ mission to provide nationwide storm water management services and the purchase of the lift station assets expands AQUALIS’ service offerings.

Innovyze Names Rick Gruenhagen Chief Technology Officer

Innovyze has announced Rick Gruenhagen as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Gruenhagen will oversee the company’s overall product direction and development and will lead the engineering, product and infrastructure teams.

Gruenhagen brings over 20 years of experience in organizational leadership and innovative software engineering to his new role. He has also served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and Naval Flight Officer. He held senior software engineering and development roles at some of the most prominent tech organizations in the world, including America Online, PayPal, Amazon and Microsoft.

CULTEC, Inc. Achieves a Published ASTM Product Standard

CULTEC, Inc. successfully balloted a newly approved and published ASTM product standard, designated as ASTM F3430-20, Specification for Cellular Polypropylene (PP) Corrugated Wall Stormwater Collection Chambers.

This new standard defines the requirements for PP chambers manufactured by the structural foam process, which produces chambers with a cellular wall, reported the press release

The development process of ASTM F3430 was a test of resilience and resolution,” said Abraham Murra of Abraham Murra Consulting. “Michelle demonstrated her abilities to bring a group of diverse interests to consensus and her professionalism in handling difficult situations.”
