Maryland’s Secretary of the Environment Ben Grumbles will discuss storm water permitting trends
Storm Water Solutions (SWS) announced the agenda and keynote speaker for the second annual live SWS Conference & Exhibition. The three-day event will take place Nov. 13 to 15 at the Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago.
The sessions have been carefully curated to provide quality educational opportunities. Tracks covered during the event include green infrastructure; retrofits; legal; modeling and research; storm water practices and BMPs planning and design; MS4 management; and stream and wetlands restoration/watershed planning.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the newly completed McCook Reservoir Stage I, which is capable of holding 3.5 billion gal of storm water and is estimated to provide $114 million per year in flood reduction benefits to Chicago residents. Additionally, the event will feature a new Young Professionals Breakfast, providing opportunities for young professionals to network.
The opening keynote speaker will be Ben Grumbles, Maryland’s Secretary of the Environment who will speak to national trends in storm water permitting, as well as specifically his efforts in Maryland.
This year’s SWS Conference & Exhibition promises to be the storm water event of the year, featuring quality education session, networking opportunities and the exhibitors.
