Warkentin has 40 years experience in transportation improvement projects
In an announcement at the annual state of the company address, RBF Consulting announced the promotion of transportation planning expert Gary Warkentin to senior vice president of the firm. Warkentin will provide leadership across the firm’s sixteen offices and expertise to clients nationally.
Warkentin has nearly 40 years of experience in developing transportation improvement projects for local cities, counties, municipalities and departments of transportation, such as Caltrans. He has played a key role in hundreds of projects integral to transportation in the western U.S., with extensive expertise in Southern California. In addition to freeways, highways, interchanges, local streets and over crossings, Warkentin’s expertise extends to bicycle transportation plans and other sustainable transportation approaches, such as the award-winning Palm Desert Golf Cart Transportation Program and Laguna Canyon Road. His team of “green” street experts incorporates environmental enhancements, storm water quality features and best management practices, landscape architecture attributes and many other sustainable practices to maximize the potential of each transportation project.
“Mr. Warkentin is one of our country’s top transportation planning experts,” said Bob Kallenbaugh, RBF’s co-CEO. “He understands land use, traffic, safety, the environment and mobility as integrated components of the bigger transportation picture and we are extremely proud of his accomplishments as we promote him to senior vice president.”
