Two live webinars will be held on the day of the event.

At 12 p.m. Eastern, James Kelly, P.E., project manager/associate for Michael Baker Intl., will present, “MS4 Permit Challenges in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.” Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic faced multiple MS4 permit challenges, including pollutant load reduction, for eight of their 12 Hampton Roads installations that are regulated under their MS4 permit. This webinar discusses the solutions implemented by Michael Baker International, including the development of a tool to help NAVFAC manage more than 400 BMPs located in the 12 installations.

At 3 p.m. Eastern, Seth Brown, P.E., principal/founder of Storm and Stream Solutions LLC will present, “Policies, Trends and Dollars in the Storm Water Sector Today.” Recent policies, such as the MS4 Phase II remand, are impacting the storm water sector. This presentation offers an overview of policy issues, funding and financing challenges and innovations, alternative project delivery approaches, and a non-partisan analysis of the current climate in Washington, D.C. as it relates to the water sector. Information on the existing and future funding gap and financing challenges will be presented, along with examples of how market-based and private sector approaches are addressing these challenges. The session includes Brown’s thoughts on where the industry might be headed in terms of future growth and policy dynamics.
