The second installment in the four-part SWS Webinar Series covers storm water compliance and design challenges, presented in partnership with IECA.
As part of the new SWS Webinar Series, SWS and IECA teamed up to bring their audiences this webinar covering storm water compliance, and it is now available on-demand here.
One of the most expensive line items in a site development budget today can be the SWPPP and post-construction stormwater BMPs required to comply with the federal Clean Water Act and its NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) regulations. Not only is design and construction more expensive – but property owners and their agents must plan for and address the real expense for inspections and maintenance of these stormwater treatment systems.
During this content-rich webinar, the expert speaker will address the current state of these regulations and some of the design consequences that hit owners with unexpected maintenance costs that their budget often cannot withstand. We will follow with a pictorial overview of completed project details that accomplish the design intent and others that do not. Finally, we will touch on some of the systemic weaknesses of current SWPPP and post-construction inspection processes and discuss Stormwater STL’s development of Comprehensive Stormwater Compliance Programs for several of their customers.
Presented as a partnership between Storm Water Solutions and the International Erosion Control Association (IECA), this event promises to be an eye-opening and thought-provoking presentation on the issues inherent in our stormwater management regulations.
1) Understand the history of the regulations we operate under today
2) Learn the importance of thinking beyond standard design details and construction cost
3) Expand design thinking to include ongoing operation and maintenance costs
4) Recognize that our stormwater treatment programs must continue to evolve
