Summary

Low Impact Development (LID) and Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) allow us to manage water in a sustainable way, while delivering environmental, social and economic benefits to our communities. This webinar will discuss recent trends in this area, including onsite stormwater reuse; the use of native vegetation to aid with LID/GSI; bioretention and infiltration best practices; implementing LID/GSI in urban settings; and exploring local, state and federal initiatives for LID/GSI. Additionally, case studies illustrating these trends will be featured.

Ms. Lauren Greenfield, P.E., MBA is a Civil/Environmental Project Manager for Michael Baker International, working out of the Moon Township, Pennsylvania office. She provides 13 years of experience spanning water resources, civil and environmental design, engineering, permitting, project management, and construction oversight to projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Ms. Greenfield specializes in water resources design and environmental remediation for detention/retention ponds, bioretention facilities, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and acid mine drainage remediation. She also has  civil-site experience with federal and commercial land development projects, municipal plan reviews, and public outreach. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Minor in Environmental Engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Greenfield is also a licensed Professional Engineer in six states and is currently pursuing her Project Management Professional (PMP) and Board-Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) accreditations.
