Midwest Engineering Associates merges with Fehr Graham

April 22, 2024
The merger was announced April 16, 2024, and will see the two companies combine with a total of 235 employees.

Midwest Engineering Associates, a 34-person engineering firm based in East Peoria, Illinois, announced they were merging with Fehr Graham.

Co-owners of Midwest Engineering, Robert Culp, PE, CFM, and David Horton, PE, say they chose Fehr Graham because they believe the two firms share a common goal in providing value and innovative solutions to clients’ problems.

“We wanted a partner with similar values and business acumen,” Culp said in a press release. “Fehr Graham has grown over the years but has maintained a small firm feel by being attentive to clients, which resonated with our approach to client business.”

Fehr Graham’s strategic growth objectives make Midwest Engineering a valuable asset. Midwest Engineering offers established structural and transportation engineering services combined with experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.

“When we saw the level of services and expertise Midwest Engineering brought to the table, we knew they would be a perfect addition to our team,” said Mick Gronewold, PE, president of Fehr Graham, in the press release. “Their culture fits seamlessly with ours, and together, we’re stronger.”

Midwest engineering will rebrand to Midwest Engineering Associates, a Fehr Graham company, during the merger. The companies will together utilize 235 employees.

The staff at Midwest Engineering will continue to operate from their respective offices in East Peoria and Peoria, Illinois, and Coralville, Iowa.
