March 4, 2021

Contech Engineered Solutions announced that the Washington State Department of Ecology, under the Technology Acceptance Protocol – Ecology (TAPE), has granted General Use Level Designation (GULD) approvals to the Jellyfish Filter.

Contech Engineered Solutions announced that the Washington State Department of Ecology, under the Technology Acceptance Protocol – Ecology (TAPE), has granted General Use Level Designation (GULD) approvals to the Jellyfish Filter for the following pollutants:

  • Basic (Total Suspended Solids – TSS)
  • Phosphorous Treatment

The approval comes after an extensive field study demonstrated that the Jellyfish Filter has successfully met or exceeded the Basic and Phosphorus GULD performance goals, according to the press release. When properly installed, operated, and  maintained, the Jellyfish Filter may be used in the state of Washington as a stand-alone storm water treatment device for these pollutants.

The Jellyfish Filter is a storm water quality treatment technology featuring high surface area, high flow rate membrane filtration at low driving head. By incorporating pretreatment with light-weight membrane filtration, the Jellyfish Filter removes a high level and a wide variety of storm water pollutants. The filter features high surface area membrane cartridges, combined with up-flow hydraulics, frequent passive backwashing, and rinseable/reusable cartridges.

The Jellyfish Filter joins Contech’s other GULD approved products including the Stormwater Management StormFilter, the CDS Hydrodynamic Separator, and the Filterra Bioretention System. For more information on the Jellyfish Filter, please visit www.conteches.com/jellyfish.
